Terima Kasih Erdorgan!

DAVOS, Jan 30 — Turkey's prime minister stalked off the stage at the World Economic Forum red-faced yesterday after reproaching Israel's president over the Gaza offensive by saying "You kill people."

The packed audience, which included President Barack Obama's close adviser Valerie Jarrett, appeared stunned as Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Israeli President Shimon Peres raised their voices and traded accusations.

Peres was passionate in his defence of Israel's three-week offensive against Hamas militants, launched in reaction to eight years of rocket fire aimed at Israeli territory. As he spoke, Peres often turned towards Erdogan, who in his remarks had criticised the Israeli blockade of Gaza, saying it was an "open air prison, isolated from the rest of the world" and referred to the Palestinian death toll of about 1,300, more than half of those civilians. Thirteen Israelis also died.

"Why did they fire rockets? There was no siege against Gaza," Peres said, his voice rising in emotion. "Why did they fight us, what did they want? There was never a day of starvation in Gaza."

The heated debate with Israel and Turkey at the centre was significant because of the key role Turkey has played as a moderator between Israel and Syria. Erdogan appeared to express a sense of disappointment when he recounted how he had met with the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert days before the offensive, and believed they were close to reaching terms for a face-to-face meeting with Syrian leaders.

Obama's new Mideast envoy, George Mitchell, will be in Turkey for talks on Sunday.

Erdogan was angry when a panel moderator cut off his remarks in response to an impassioned monologue by Peres defending Israel's offensive against the Hamas rulers of Gaza.

"I find it very sad that people applaud what you said," Erdogan said. "You killed people. And I think that it is very wrong."

The angry exchange followed an hour-long debate at the forum attended by world leaders in Davos. Erdogan tried to rebut Peres as the discussion was ending, asking the moderator, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, to let him speak once more.

"Only a minute," Ignatius replied.

"Mr Peres, you are older than me. Your voice is too loud," Erdogan told Peres, saying his emotion belied a guilty conscience.

"You kill people," Erdogan told the 85-year-old Israeli leader. "I remember the children who died on beaches. I remember two former prime ministers who said they felt very happy when they were able to enter Palestine on tanks."

When Erdogan was asked to stop, he angrily stalked off, leaving fellow panellists UN Secretary-General Ban-Ki moon and Arab League Secretary Amr Moussa.

"When it comes to killing, you know it too well," the Turkish leader said.

When the moderator tried to cut short Erdogan's remarks, saying it was past time to adjourn for dinner, he answered in frustration, "Don't interrupt me. You are not allowing me to speak."

He then said: "I will not come to Davos again."

Ultimately, Erdogan stressed he left not because of a dispute with Peres but because he was not given time to respond to the Israeli leader's remarks. Erdogan also complained that Peres had 25 minutes while he was only given 12 minutes.

"I did not target at all in any way the Israeli people, President Peres, or the Jewish people," Erdogan told a news conference afterwards.

"I am a prime minister, a leader who has specifically expressly stated that anti-Semitism is a crime against humanity," he said.

Peres and Erdogan raised their voices — highly unusual at the elite gathering of corporate and world leaders, which is usually marked by polite dialogue.

Moussa, a former Egyptian foreign minister, said Erdogan's action was understandable.

"Mr Erdogan said what he wanted to say and then he left. That's all. He was right." Of Israel, he said, "they don't listen."

Erdogan brushed past reporters outside the hall. His wife appeared upset. "All Peres said was a lie. It was unacceptable," she said, eyes glistening.

"I have known Shimon Peres for many years and I also know Erdogan. I have never seen Shimon Peres so passionate as he was today. I think he felt Israel was being attacked by so many in the international community. He felt isolated," said former Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.

"I was very sad that Erdogan left. This was an expression of how difficult this situation is."

Earlier yesterday, Israeli election front-runner Benjamin Netanyahu told another session that keeping nuclear weapons out of Iran's hands was more important than the economy because the financial meltdown is reversible.

"What is not reversible is the acquisition of nuclear weapons by a fanatic radical regime ... We have never had, since the dawn of the nuclear age, nuclear weapons in the hands of such a fanatical regime," said Netanyahu, who is seeking to return to the Israeli prime minister's office.

Iran maintains that it is seeking nuclear power for peaceful purposes and not for a weapons programme.

An Iranian official in Davos appeared to extend a hand to the Obama administration as discussion broadened to include Iran, oil and what might be expected from the new leaders in Washington.

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Tehran would take a "cooperative approach" with the US as long as it saw changes that go beyond words.

"We do believe that if the new administration of the United States, as Mr Obama says, is going to change its policies not in saying but practice, they will find in the region a cooperative approach and reaction," Mottaki said.

Obama has stressed the importance of engaging Iran, a country the Bush administration often singled out as the most dangerous in the Middle East. — AP

Syabas Erdogan!

Apa Diharap Pada Obama Dan Barat?

Yakinlah!

We will not go down (Song for Gaza)

WE WILL NOT GO DOWN (Song for Gaza)
(Composed by Michael Heart)

A blinding flash of white light
Lit up the sky over Gaza tonight
People running for cover
Not knowing whether they’re dead or alive

They came with their tanks and their planes
With ravaging fiery flames
And nothing remains
Just a voice rising up in the smoky haze

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight

Women and children alike
Murdered and massacred night after night
While the so-called leaders of countries afar
Debated on who’s wrong or right

But their powerless words were in vain
And the bombs fell down like acid rain
But through the tears and the blood and the pain
You can still hear that voice through the smoky haze

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down

In Gaza tonight

Tak Dengar lah.. Boikot??

Aku seorang eksekutif di sebuah syarikat swasta. Hidup aku simple ajer. Happy go lucky. Janji halal.

Tapi bila pagi ni aku pergi kerja, rasa tak berapa best. Aku dapat satu email pasal boikot. Kenapa pulak ya. Alamak! Rupa-rupanya Palestin kena serang dek Israel. Baru aku tahu. Dah dua minggu rupa-rupanya. So, apa masalahnya? Apa yang depa dok kecoh sangat. Palestin dengan Malaysia tu berapa ribu kilometer. Lagipun dia orang yang kena serang, bukan kita pun.

Patut lah aku tengok banyak sangat tabung derma. Banyak benda aku pakai hari-hari.

Hujung-hujung minggu mesti orang rumah aku ajak pergi shopping dekat Carefour dengan Tesco beli barang-barang makanan untuk stok seminggu. (Baca Giant @ Maidin).

Telefon pulak berbunyi. Telefon aku jenis Nokia(baca Huawei). Dia ajak gi Starbuck pulak(baca warung Pak Ali). Aku on jer.
Aku terus masuk dalam kereta sambil kuatkan pewangi Ambi Pur(baca brand X). Tengah hari kawan aku tu nak belanja makan kat McDonald(gulai kawah) pulak. Dah 2 bulan tak pekena makan kat situ katanya.

Sambil-sambil duduk dalam kereta aku kunyah lah coklat Kit-Kat. Sedap. Memang favourite aku tu. Kalau tak telan coklat kit-kat pun aku biskut Danone pun selalu gak aku belasah. Sambil tu aku hirup sikit air tin nescafe. Rasa lega sungguh. Nasib baiklah bukan hujung bulan, kalau tak ada jugak masanya aku kena ikat perut. Apa lagi, cam orang lain Maggi lah jadi kegemaran aku. Slurp berapi cam mawi punya iklan tu. Sambil tu aku lap mulut dengan tisu Scott. Teringin pulak nak minum air gas. Kadang-kadang aku bekal cerita Coca-Cola.

Lupa pulak, satu lagi berhenti lah hisap rokok. Pasal jin pulun asap, dia pun pulun sekali. Terima kasih lah kat siapa-siapa yang sudi baca cerita merapu kawan ni. Mana yang baik buat tauladan, tak baik jadikan sempadan.

Ya Rasulullah!!

Ikutilah sebuah kisah indah daripada remaja Turki. Sumber alhussyen51.

We ask for mercy
by the tongue of the sinful
from Allah the Most Revered

O messenger of Allah
your life is mercy to the worlds flowing in our hearts
we see you with our hearts
at age one
you are with the clan of BaniSa'ad
all of the caretakers refused to tend to you
for that the clouds were upset
so they stopped sending rain
the lands of Bani Sa'ad went dry
a small cloud in the sky
infatuated with you
always shading you
people gathered to pray for rain

Sayyeda Halima is holding you closely
protecting you from the scorching sun
the small cloud in the sky
is still taken by you
always following you
the priest was holding you while praying
he looks at your beautiful eyes
and forget about the thirst, the rain, and the prayers
but you did not forget
those eyes captivated the cloud

Oh how we would give up our souls for a glimpse of those eyes
the cloud was bewitched by that look
and it began to grow little by little, the raindrops began to descend
most of them don't know why it rained
most of them don't know whou you are

at age six
on your way to Al Madina Al Munawwara
alongside your mother and Um Aiman
you feel orphaned standing on your father's grave
In Abwa'a you lose your mother
you enter Makkah orphaned from both parents

Abdul Muttalib loved you even more
Abu Talib love you even more

O messenger of Allah
did Makkah's children call upon their mother's before you?
did you look down every time they cry "mommy"?
how many times did the winds of Makkah carry your tears to the Abwa'a?
How many nights you cried "mommy, mommy"?

O beloved
For you we call our mothers "mom"
For you we call our fathers " dad"

at age twenty-five
you're different than all people
no one was even close to your character
your heavenly scent is full of mercy
your voice brings peace
you are Muhammad the trustworthy

at age thirty three
waves of mercy are overflowing
at age thirty five
come o beloved, no more delay
deep sighs are knocking on the sky's doors
come o beloved, no more delay
hearts are longing for the long awaited messenger
come o beloved, no more delay!

you are invited to the mountain of Noor
at age forty
you are in the cave of Heraa on the mountain of Noor
Angel Gabriel descends from the heavens
every part of existence sends its peace & prayers

the hearts of all creatures long for you
you are to us like the light of dawn, amongst the darkness of night
you are the prophet of Allah
you are the beloved of Allah
you are the messenger of Allah

why did the sadden you o great one?
why did they attack you?
Is it because Abu Talib died?
Is it because no one left to protect you?
it is as if we can see your tears at the Kaa'ba
as if you are saying " I felt loneliness after losing you o uncle"

we remember your prayers in al Haram
when they put dirt on your head
oh we would give up our heads to protect yours O messenger of Allah
look how those misfortunate watch and laugh

who is that running towards you int the streets of Makkah?
who is that running as if the throne descended from heaven?
who is running, they wonder
who?
someone answers
Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad
the mother of the righteous
your dear daughter wipes with her hands your eyes & face
she looks like you the most
she was almost you when she laughed or cried
it's like we can see you say " don't cry my daughter"

why did they push you out of your city?
is it because you were alone?
didn't they realize who is protecting you?
the One that found you orphaned and looked after you?
the One who sent you as the mercy to the worlds?
they said " you're insane"
you did not answer them
they said "you're insane"
you're a rhymester
you did not answer them

they said"who will protect and save you from us"?
you
you answered "Allah"
"Allah the Most Revered"

the heavens were enveloped with awe
you say "Allah"
and the high throne trembles
you said "Allah" in Badr
and He sent you three thousand angels with their horses
125,000 companion with you

they all say we'd forgo our parents for you, O messenger of Allah
O messenger of Allah
you walk in the streets of Madina
the little girls of Bani alNajjar clan saw you
they were so happy they didn't know what to do
you asked them " do you love me?"
yes we love you o beloved of Allah, the replied

you said " Allah knows that I love you too
so many youth today
are not from the clan of bani alNajjar
but they also love you
their tears witness that they love you more than themselves
no one for them except you

Allah knows that you love them as well
at age sixty
you pray and say " the Highest Companion"
you wear a cloak made of wool for you
with white garments
you wore it and went out to your companions
and you slapped your hands on your knees
and said "look how beautiful it is?"
one of your companions called upon you
give it to me o messenger of Allah
why did he ask it when he knows that you like it?
and he certainly knows that you will never saya no?
you gave it to him

and you went back to your old patched cloak
meeting the Beloved is one week away
they made for you similar cloaks many times
you were not destined to wear any of them

you sent the news through your companion Abu Huraira
that some people will come after me and say
we wish to see our prophet even if it costs us our wealth and children
you talked with your companion Anas about your longing for your brothers
you said " I miss my brothers, those who believe in me without seeing me"
O beloved, you sadly call from the Madina podium " my nation, my nation"
you're the one who prayed for all people from makkah's mosque
with the grace of Allah, we kneeled and testified that you are the final messenger of God
we believe all of what you brought from God
we listened and we obey

O messenger of Allah
you're still at age forty
and you're still leading your nation

Air Mata Palestin

Palestin,

61 tahun dirimu bermandi darah,
namun apa yang mampu kami lakukan?
mampu lihat?
mampu buat?
dari jauh...
berasa sedikit marah,
mengomel-ngomel di kedai kopi,
dan kehidupan kami seperti biasa,
mencari rezeki buat mengisi perut kami
asal sahaja deritamu tidak berjangkit pada kami
itu sudah sejuta nikmat
dari Illahi

Palestin

Bukan dirimu yang tidak bermaya,
tapi kamilah yang malang,
yang tidak berdaya berbuat sesuatu
hanya mampu melihat,
bersedih sebentar,
kemudian kembali ke rumah
dan tidur lena diulit mimpi
esoknya memori kami sudah hilang
lupa apa yang dilihat dan dirasai semala

Palestin

Bukan dirimu yang merana
tapi kamilah yang bakal merana
membiarkan saudara-saudara kami
disembelih dan dibunuh
tanpa dapat berbuat apa-apa
kamu memperolehi syahid
sedangkan kami menanti azab
kerana tidak merasakan apa-apa
atas nasib saudara kami

Palestin

mereka punya ibu
mereka punya bapa
mereka punya saudara lelaki
mereka punya saudara perempuan
meratapi kematian ibu
lalu kita hanya membiarkan mereka diratahi
tentera zionis dan sekutunya
sedangkan kita setiap hari bersama keluarga
dengan aman bahagia
sedangkan kita mengaku bersaudara

Palestin

malu sungguh kami berkata
rintihanmu jua rintihan kami
sedangkan kami hanya mampu menghulur
sekeping duit seringgit
dan dua tangan yang menghulur memohon doa
sedang pemimpin kami
berteater dan berdrama
konon memarahi Israel dan Amerika
sedangkan merekalah sahabat karibnya

Tuhan
ampunkan kami
atas kelemahan kami
membiarkan saudara kami dicabul dan dihina
Palestin
kasihanilah kami
janganlah sampai kami dicampak ke neraka jahanam
atas pendakwaanmu kepada kami nanti
atas kealpaan dan kebodohan kami

Ummah,
kami merindukan amirul mukminin
yang mendengar rintihan ummahnya
yang menghantar tentera membela wanita dan anak-anak
yang membela negara dan bangsa
yang membela rakyat yang diperkosa dan disembelih
dari tentera-tentera kuffar
kami rindukan Saidina Umar
yang membuka Palestin
penuh keamanan
kami rindukan Salahuddin Al-Ayubi
yang membebaskan tanahair tercinta ini
dari kehancuran dan kerosakan
bimbinglah kami
